Lightning Causes House Fires in Lantana

Following scattered thunderstorms in the DFW area, several homes in the Lantana community were set ablaze after being struck by lightning. This photo represents one of these homes and the drastic damage that was inflicted. It goes to show that flood damage is not the only concern regarding heavy storms. We advise all community members to have an emergency plan in place that is adaptable to any situation that may arise. Communicate your plan with other members of your household and involve your neighbors when possible. Practice procedures often in order to build confidence and certainty should an incident occur.
